All OK -the syrup that I put in a few weeks ago has all gone from the feeder tray - eaten or stored?
I moved the anti- varoa strips - cleaned off the propolis stuck to them, and pushed them back in place between two frames, diagonally either side of the main brood activety.
The bees have been coming and going - returning with lots of bright yellow pollen pads on their back legs. So they are still collecting stores.
Continue to see Asian Hornets outside the cage we made to protect the hive entry. Usualy only one or two at a time, and I have been able to swipe quite a few with our old badminton raquet.
You have to try and find them in the grass, as the hit istelf doesn't finish them off, they can stagger around for a while then fly away - so what is required is a hit with the raquet followed by a stamp.
The three traps are also doing well - each of them has a good quota of hornets !
Am I becoming obsessed - maybe a bit - but it's so sad when you see one fly away with one of your bees as cargo !
